Hello and Welcome to the Washington Post
The years 1962 to 1972 were an interesting era for the United States of America. Throughout this time, there were 3 Presidents (Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon), there were scandals (Watergate), and protests centered around nation wide issues. The Vietnam war was commonly disputed amongst citizens and the nation became divided. Music became a common outlet for people to showcase their animosity towards the government, policies, the war, and more. During this time, Nixon was the first president in the history of the United States to resign. This era left the American public desiring a more honest and trustworthy government that would not try to deceive them.
