Amanda Writes Eloquent Poetry

Remain:
Civilization
In this day in age?
Education
Like a prison
Ruler teach only conformity
Throwing aside
Individuality
We move to the beat
March as one
the world turns grey
no more sun
no more sea
no more people
only society
moving in union
grey masses
bound together
no classes
thin as feathers
they walk false
with eyes
emotionless
and without voices
but you won't find me
I won't be caught
you can't catch me
with my illegal thoughts
my mind is free
I will not fall
the weak may flee
but I'll stand tall
I am different
I am strange
I am independent
and I will remain

Vietnam:
Violence stops at last
the world can rest softly
the war is breaking

Weary:
The world this weary
Weary from this long war
tired of death
tired of paranoia
Propaganda litters the media
Monsters lurk in men's hearts and shadows
The children know fear.
Masses know sorrow
Politicians are two faced
and night is pretty
we are weary of this war
we long for it to stop

Integration:
We will not stand for this
We can stay silent no longer
The cage is too tight
The weight is too much to bear
The bars are bending
And about to break
We are screaming
We shout so you cannot ignore us
We’ll flood the streets with our feet
And the air with our songs
Like Moses and the Hebrews
We will ascend above this oppression
And nothing will keep us down

Women:
We’ve been over this
We are people
We deserve to vote
We have a right to own property
We have right to liberty and freedom
Yet we are paid unequally
We are viewed as less
We are caged in
We are expected to fit a cookie cutter
We are supposed to be content with household lives
As household wise
When we have such great power and potential
We are rising.
Up and above this view
Above this trap
We will aim to be something great
And watch as we shoot high and above.
The revolution is here.
